Bearings • Ball Bearings

Ball bearing is a rolling element bearing with balls that separate the moving elements. They are used to reduce rotational friction while holding up radial and axial loads. Two races, one fixed, hold the balls and transmit loads through the balls. The rolling balls produce a low coefficient of friction. Ball bearings typically have a low load capacity but allow for misalignment of the inner and outer races. They can be made of various materials, including stainless steel and plastic. They have several common designs such as angular contact, axial, thrust, sealed, flanged, self aligning and deep groove. Various sizes and configurations are available; large, miniature, inch, metric, double and single row.

  • Dynaroll Corp.

Dynaroll are manufacturers of ball bearings in a variety of different grades, including ABEC and ISO. Their 600 Series come in standard open, shielded and sealed configurations, with bore ranges from 4mm to 9mm, and outside diameter ranges from 16mm to 26mm. Their R Series ball bearings come in standard or flanged open, shielded and sealed configurations, and offer bore ranges from .1250 inch to 1.2500 inches, and outside diameter ranges from .3750 inch to 2.2500 inches.

  • KMS Bearings, Inc.

KSM are designers and manufacturers of plastic, custom, AISI 316 stainless radial, and plastic mounted blocks (plastic and 316 stainless insert) ball bearings. Plastic types are available in standard inch and metric sizes. Their AISI 316 stainless steel radial ball bearings provide superior corrosion resistance compared to 440 stainless steel designs. These are widely used in the food and medical industries.

  • NHBB (New Hampshire Ball Bearing)

NHBB is a manufacturer of precision (ABEC 5 & 7) ball bearings from 0.1250 in. to 11.00 in. O.D. They specialize in miniature and instrument designs, as well as dental, thin section (Thinex) and torque tube, and large designs for aerospace applications. NHBB miniature and instrument ball bearings come in angular contact full ball complement, angular contact and radial configurations.

  • PIB Bearing, Inc.

PIB are manufacturers of precision ball bearings. Their R Series type is a single row, inch series with sizes from 1/8 inch to 1 inch. They can be ordered in stainless steel, flanged, shielded or sealed for high speed applications. PIB's 6000 Series type are deep groove radial ball bearings, single row, made of steel, for axial or radial loads operating at high speeds. Shaft sizes are relatively large, with deep honed raceways.  They are available in open, sealed or shielded configurations. PIB's 6800 Series type feature a large outside diameter, and may be obtained with light, standard or heavy torque. Their Felt Seals Series are a light duty, single row radial type with high quality felt seals, precision ground raceways and steel balls. Their Thin Section Series type offers precision tolerances and high temperature ratings. PIB also offers double row bearings.

  • VXB Ball Bearings

VXB are suppliers of ball bearings available in carbon, chrome and stainless steel. Retainers available include steel, nylon, polymide, phenolic, and more. All are offered in inch or metric sizes. Types available include ceramic, metric miniature, inch type, teflon sealed, and large size ball bearings. Their metric miniature types have an inner diameter range of 1mm to 32mm. Their inch sizes have a range from .078 inch to 1 inch. VXB also offers metric linear bearing and motion systems, and inch linear motion systems. Other types of bearings available include plain spherical, needle roller, tapered roller, self aligning and flanged type.

  • Champion Bearings

Champion Bearings are manufacturers and suppliers of hybrid rotary and linear ball bearings for automotive, motorcycle, bicycle and skateboard applications. These ball bearings are self lubricating with ceramic balls for low torque, high strength and high temperature resistance. They can be fabricated to precision shapes and sizes. Champions ceramic balls have an outer and inner ring made of steel. Teflon seals are available on all standard metric and inch sizes. Champion uses metal retainer deep groove bearing cages made of stainless steel AISI 410. This is a general purpose cage available only in miniature and instrument sizes.
