Bearings • Ball Bearings

Ball bearing is a rolling element bearing with balls that separate the moving elements. They are used to reduce rotational friction while holding up radial and axial loads. Two races, one fixed, hold the balls and transmit loads through the balls. The rolling balls produce a low coefficient of friction. Ball bearings typically have a low load capacity but allow for misalignment of the inner and outer races. They can be made of various materials, including stainless steel and plastic. They have several common designs such as angular contact, axial, thrust, sealed, flanged, self aligning and deep groove. Various sizes and configurations are available; large, miniature, inch, metric, double and single row.
