Bearings • Flanged Bearings
Flanged bearings are bearings that feature a flange or rim on the outer ring, used when a shaft axis is perpendicular to the bearing mounting surface. Appropriate selection of a flanged bearing is based on shaft size, radial and thrust load requirements, and if appropriate, overall clearance from the mounting surface (e.g., low clearance applications).Flanged bearing choices are many. Mounting styles include 2-bolt, 3-bolt, and 4-bolt; housing materials include pressed steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and plastic; and bearing materials include steel, stainless steel, sintered bronze, graphite or metal alloy, sintered iron, and plastic. Additionally, ball, needle roller, plain, and roller bearing types are available, as are setscrew and locking collar shaft securing methods.Leading manufacturers: The Big Bearing Store, Dodge, VXB, Shanghai Lily, SPB-USA, Pacific International Bearing
