Bearings • Plastic Bearings
There are a number of plain bearings that are comprised of various plastics including nylon, PEEK blend, polyacetal, PTFE, glass-filled PTFE, Rulon, UHMWPE, MDS-filled urethane, and Vespel. Solid-plastic plain bearings typically feature dry-running, lubrication-free behaviors, and are known for their light weight, corrosion resistance, and long life. The various plastic bearings are found within farm equipment, textile machinery, medical devices, food and packaging machines, car seating, marine equipment, tills, and photocopy machines.

Hartford engineers and manufactures standard plastic bearings and bearing assemblies in a wide range of dimensions. Modifications to standard bore or OD, or special features such as thin sections, can be engineered and prototyped quickly. Plastic materials used include Polyoxymethylene/Acetal /Delrin (POM), a semi-crystalline engineered polymer combining superior fatigue and impact resistance with high strength.
