Bearings • Plastic Bearings
There are a number of plain bearings that are comprised of various plastics including nylon, PEEK blend, polyacetal, PTFE, glass-filled PTFE, Rulon, UHMWPE, MDS-filled urethane, and Vespel. Solid-plastic plain bearings typically feature dry-running, lubrication-free behaviors, and are known for their light weight, corrosion resistance, and long life. The various plastic bearings are found within farm equipment, textile machinery, medical devices, food and packaging machines, car seating, marine equipment, tills, and photocopy machines.

Saint-Gobain manufactures NORGLIDE molded plastic bearings in a lead free, self-lubricating plain style. These plastic PTFE bearings are custom manufactured to lower friction and reduce maintenance. Products come with a metallic backing or with a flexible bearing tape.
GGB offers bearings using fiber-reinforced plastic composite materials specifically developed for hydropower applications. These materials have a high load capacity, excellent shock and edge loading capacity, excellent corrosion resistance, and are dimensionally stable. Products are available as bushes, plates, bearing segments and special forms depending on the particular material type.
