Bearings • Thin Section Bearings
Thin section bearings come in three types which include deep groove bearings, four point contact bearings and angular contact bearings. Thin section bearings are used in conditions in which shaft location is key. The four point contact bearings support thrust loads in either direction and resists moment loads more effectively than deep groove bearings. Deep groove bearings and angular contact bearings use an axial split in their outer rings.

AST is a manufacturer of thin metric bearings. Bore sizes range from 10 to 120mm, radial capacity 1000 RPM from 150 to 3310, radius inches from 0.012 to 0.040 and width measurement from 6 to 22 mm.
Saint-Gobain is a manufacturer of thin wall bearings which are light weight, have a smaller cross section, easy to press fit, are lead free and self lubricating. Thin wall bearings are ideal where space limitations exist, an increase in shaft or pivot diameter is required or in unique or custom applications.
