Card edge connectors are used for connecting printed wiring leads on the edge of a printed circuit board (PCB).

    CW Industries offers CWR-170-40-0000, CWR-170-34-0000, CWR-170-26-0000, CWR-170-20-0000, and CWR-170-10-0000 card edge connectors. Model CWR-170-40-0000 IDC card edge connectors feature current ratings up to 1A, operating temperatures ranging from -55 to +125°C, dialectic voltages over 500 VDC, and insulation resistance up to 5 x 109 ohms. These connectors have up to 40 contacts, gold over nickel plating, and terminals for up to 1/16" boards. CW connectors are available with or without mounting ears, 10 to 50 contacts, and thicknesses ranging from 0.032" to 0.070".

    TE Connectivity offers card edge connectors in over two dozen types, including: modified bellows, cantilever, press-fit, standard, mother board, rotary cam ZIF, linear ZIF, high current, low profile, PCB hood, DUO-TYNE flag, drawer, crimp snap twin leaf, etc. Crimp snap twin leaf connectors are ideally used for high density wire-to-board applications, and they come in right angle, posted, solder, or crimp styles. Model 1-640133-0 crimp snap twin leaf connectors feature up to 10 positions, mounting ear options, tin-lead contact plating, and a 3.96mm center-line.

    Digi-Key Corp. offers card edge connectors in a variety of configurations. These connectors feature positions ranging from 1 to 390, male/female gender options, card thicknesses ranging from 0.031" to 0.125", contact finish thickness ranges from 1μin to 118.1μin, and a pitch range from 0.20" to 0.508". They are available in 1-2 rows, and they have the following optional features: scoops, open card slots, latches, end caps, card latches, card extenders, board locks, locking ramps, board guides, clips, bi-levels, etc.

    Newark offers card edge and backplane connectors in over 1,000 configurations. These connectors come in pitch spacing ranges from 0.5 to 20.3mm, contact numbers ranging from 1 to 340, and row numbers ranging from 1 to 16. They are RoHS compliant, and they come in receptacle, plug, or header gender options. Contact termination options include: solder, screw, press fit vertical, press fit right angle, IDC/IDT, crimp, surface mount right angle, wire wrap, surface mount straddle, through hole vertical, etc.
