Gear motors are small motors constructed with integral gear reducers, and drives are systems used for controlling motor speed.

    Baldor manufactures speed reducers, servo-rated gearheads, DC gear motors, and AC gear motors. GBSM-Series servo-rated gearheads have the following features: grease lubrication, a rugged mounting face, integrated/self-locating input pinion clamps, deep case hardening, dual ball bearing supports, and large diameter output shafts. Gear drives for wind turbines are highly efficient, easy to mount, quiet operating, compact, space-saving, and robust. These gearboxes have ratios from 62 to 1671, static output torques from 3 to 110 kNm, power ratings ranging from 660 to 5,000 kW, and a 2-4 stage planetary construction. They are commonly used for yaw and pitch adjustment in wind turbine applications.

    Boston Gear offers worm gear speed reducers, motor multipliers, helical gear drives, and bevel gear drives. 600 Series in-line helical gear drives are heat-resistant, adaptable, base/output flange-mounted, flexible, and well-suited to wet/corrosive environments. These drives come in 6 basic sizes, horsepower ratings ranging from 1/20 to 55 HP, output torque ratings from 119 to 20,000 lb-in, and output shaft diameters from 5/8" to 2-3/8". PDMC right angle worm drive gear motors come in rated torques ranging from 18 to 500 in-lbs, rated speeds ranging from 2 to 600 RPM, and voltages ranging from 12 to 240 VDC. These motors are compact, heavy-duty, high-performance, quiet operating, and UL recognized. Applications include: material handling, conveyors, lifts, medical mobility, AC powered lifting, battery powered moving, etc.

    Toledo Gearmotor offers MI-10-CE in-line and C55-HS right angle gear reducers. Model MI-10-CE in-line gear reducers come in output torques up to 182 in-lbs, HP inputs up to 0.50, output speeds up to 172.5 RPM, and 10:1 ratios. Model C55-H5 right angle gear reducers feature forged manganese/bronze worm gears, annealed cast-iron housings, tapered roller bearings, and heat treated input/output shafts. These gear reducers come in input speeds ranging from 1 to 1725 and 780 lb overhung loads on output shafts.

    Bodine Electric Co. offers WX gearmotors, PMDC gearmotors, and speed controllers. PMDC gearmotors come in three frame sizes, high starting torques, voltages ranging from 12 to 180 VDC, and rated power from 1/50 to 1/2 HP. These motors feature resin-impregnated windings, graphite/copper-graphite brushes, heavy gauge steel housings, and a permanently lubricated ball bearing construction. They are quiet-operating, reliable, reversible, and maintenance-free.
