Sensors • Transducers

Used to convert one type of energy to another. Can be used as sensors, actuators or a combination of the two.

A transducer can be defined as any device that converts one type of energy to another – be it to and from electrical, electro-mechanical, electromagnetic, photonic, or photovoltaic energy –, however the term transducer commonly implies use as a sensor, detector, or actuator. Transducer types utilized within industrial applications include pressure transducers, current transducers, ultrasonic transducers, and piezoelectric transducers.
